Gianna Purcell is first and foremost a student and dedicated practitioner of yoga. Her daily practice and training consists of Ashtanga, Bikram, and Bhakti. Within the teachings of these practices, Gianna owns a traveling yoga school called the Siddhi School of Yoga which brings her studies and variants of the Bikram and ashtanga series into studios to be taught around the world.
In this episode, you’ll hear from Gianna on:
- Honoring tradition and ritual, but still appreciating going off the rails
- Discovering mantra first from a musician’s perspective and then connecting to the devotional side of the practice
- Using yoga to defy the inheritance and identity of illness
- In the wake of catastrophic injury, being genuinely excited to slow down and heal
